Ideal job....hmmm, Is it really an "ideal" job out there? I'd like to think there is, but I'm not so sure. But that can't stop me from dreaming, right?
The career I'm studying at the present, has given me the chance to see all the different roles that are necessary to make a movie, ok maybe not ALL the roles but most of them. After almost four years I think I've really grown fond of what being an art director is. Of course I haven't done what a professional Art Director does, but there's something about it that makes me feel really excited wherever I get to take the role.
So, if we're talking about "ideal" jobs, I think becoming an Art Director would be one.
But, what does an art director do? Well, they're in charge of the Art Department in a movie, wich involves everything that's related to set designs, decorations, make up, hair, wardrobe, among other things.
Of course it would take more years after I graduate to specialize in Art Direction, and therefore more money as well, but I hope that a couple of years of practice give me the circumstances to learn more and more about this job. And meanwhile I get to study something related to Arts that can help me become a better professional. I think I need to know more about color, shapes and other things that can help me form a better judgement when it comes to taking decisions regarding what a movie should look like.
I really want to get a chance to do all this, I know it's not going to be easy, it'll take a lot of hard work and patience. I'm going to need to meet the right people the get this kind of job, and try to make the most of every opportunity a get.
